Road trippin’

by David

Under my editorial discretion, I’ve given Mags the task of official road-trip satirist. Her entry is above. I will serve as trip ombudsman, photojournalist, narrator, restaurant critic, realist, and occasional soothsayer. Besides being chauffeur and bellhop, Dad helps with the entourage. Now for some pictures.

Maggie’s nest.

A statue holds up the Christmas tree in front of Tennesee’s capitol in Nashville.

Me on best behavior.

This rock actually isn’t a rock at all. It is a speaker that blasts country music in front of the Grand Ole Opry gift store, ostensibly putting you in the mood to purchase overpriced trinkets at their gift store.

We thought this was going to be a beautiful view in the Smokey Mountains, but in fact were treated to… sights of yet more outlet malls!

Maggie and Dad eat all manner of Southern cookin’ in Dillard, Georgia. Please notice the questionable immigration status of our waiter in the background.
