London photographing to the faraway towns

by David

I just put up about 50 photos from my last three weeks in the U.K., including my time in Bath and Cambridge as well as London. Check them out at the following link:

And here are my favs, in order of neither chronology nor preference.

Houghton Street, the LSE’s equivalent of the Diag. It’s usually super crowded like so. And even this random photo displays that the school is 70% international.

The west side of the Tower of London, originally established by William the Conquerer in 1078. The grass you see used to be a water-filled moat but was drained in the 1800s. Notice London’s egg-shaped City Hall beyond the river.

Roman baths in—Bath. The top of the structure as you see it here, where the statues are located, is actually the ground level of the modern city.

Trinity College, part of Cambridge University. King Henry VIII, a very religious man, founded the college—hence the “Trinity.” During his reign, Henry also separated England from the Roman Catholic Church and had two of his wives executed. But who’s keeping track…

View of London from St. Paul’s Cathedral. Notice the way the River Thames arcs to the left behind that gigantic ferris wheel (the London Eye).

Leicester Square. There are 949 red-kiosk pay phones (phone booths) in London, and I’ve yet to see a single one them actually used.
